To all local 194 members:
Payroll and labor relations are telling me that not enough information is being supplied in remarks
for a lot of our claims. It is our responsibility that if you are on one of the EL assignments that
you properly explain what took place and ask for a trip rate each way if you are on unassigned
pool service and are flipped back out of the terminal you need to explain in remarks why you are
entitled to a flip trip rate. If you are on any pool assignment and are used for recrew service the
computer will automatically kick out the claim and you will have to be for each day and all
information for each day has to be included when asking for the claim.
When possible include the article number in the Nickel Plate Agreement book that pertains to your
claim. If you have questions please contact me or one of the local officers for help and if we don’
t have the answer we will get it for you. As I have told some of you some claims forwarded to the
General Chairman’s office will take a while to process and we will have to be patient.
Finally, when giving me claims to handle I need your T AND E STATEMENT AND A COPY OF
THE REMARKS AND THE DENIAL. PLEASE DO NOT CROSS OUT YOUR SS OR
EMPLOYEE NUMBERS ON THE T AND E STATEMENT AS THAT IS USED AS PART OF
YOUR CLAIM BUT WILL NOT BE POSTED ON THE BOARD WHEN CLAIMS ARE
HANDLED. Any questions feel free to call me and I will do my best to help you. Very shortly we
will be posting examples on our web site of penalties.
